Portland, OR:  In honor of Allergy and Asthma Awareness Month, digital health firm Vivacare announced today the launch of its new Asthma Education program developed in collaboration with Allergy & Asthma Network. The program provides medical professionals with a robust collection of asthma education resources that can be delivered at the point of care to help patients better understand and manage their asthma.

Allergists, pediatricians, respiratory therapists and other licensed medical professionals who enroll in the Vivacare service will receive a personalized “Patient Education Toolkit” loaded with over 40 asthma education titles from Allergy & Asthma Network. These can be easily distributed to patients via print, email or text, or displayed on the provider’s own website.  Asthma content includes printable handouts, videos, interactive learning guides, and self-management tools such as an Asthma Action Plan and videos on how to use an inhaler. These resources are delivered through a doctor-branded channel so patients receive information from the source they trust most, their own provider.

The asthma education resources will be made available in the Patient Education Toolkit for all medical professionals who enroll with Vivacare and treat asthma, including allergists, pediatricians and pulmonologists. In addition, Allergy & Asthma Network will make the asthma education program available to its network of 18,000 professional members.

Participating professionals can also use Vivacare to create a Professional Profile online that they can further enhance with their own asthma education content and share their unique approach to asthma care. For instance, an allergist may publish thoughts on the relationship of allergies and asthma and a pediatrician may offer Tips for a child using a peak flow meter.

Vivacare is very pleased to be offering these tremendous resources from Allergy & Asthma Network to help our community of committed medical professionals educate their patients. Vivacare believes that a well-informed patient is a healthier patient, and this is particularly true for asthma. Asthma patients need to understand how to control their asthma and what steps to take between appointments,” says Dr. Mark Becker, Pediatrician, Founder and CEO of Vivacare.

The partnership with Allergy & Asthma Network is one of several relationships Vivacare has developed with patient and professional organizations and demonstrates its commitment to providing healthcare professionals with the highest quality patient education resources.

“We are excited to partner with Vivacare and launch this patient education service during Allergy and Asthma Awareness Month. The program enables us to reach asthma patients with critical information at the point of care. It also supports our professional members as they diagnose and treat their asthma patients,” says Tonya Winders, President and CEO of Allergy & Asthma Network.
