The Jawaharlal Auditorium at AIIMS, New Delhi, reverberated with passion and motivation as the National Youth Day was commemorated with a grand celebration, marking the birth anniversary of the iconic Swami Vivekananda. The event witnessed an array of distinguished personalities who inspired the youth to be the architects of change.

Addressing the ‘Youth Day’ at AIIMS, Shri Himanshu Gupta (IAS), Secretary CBSE, deliberated “As we converge to commemorate National Youth Day, the trajectory of our nation becomes all the more significant. In a departure from convention, today’s youth, aged between 30 and 35, are not only forging thriving companies but also spearheading the ascent of young tycoons. In a landscape once dominated by Ambani and Tata, these dynamic individuals are scripting a narrative of unparalleled success. Beyond mere financial accomplishments, they are channelling their entrepreneurial zeal to erect empires that serve as pillars of societal progress. In alignment with the spirit of Swami Vivekananda’s ideals, this generation is undeniably steering our nation towards a future defined by innovation, enterprise, and a steadfast commitment to societal well-being.”

Prof. M. Srinivas, Director, AIIMS, New Delhi setting the tone for the event, emphasised the profound teachings of Swami Vivekananda, saying’ “Youth need to focus on key areas such as food safety and overall well-being, particularly for children, highlighting the importance of nurturing both hearts and minds. He envisioned India becoming a global economic powerhouse and encouraged everyone to collectively contribute towards this goal. He also urged the youth to Arise, awake, and achieve everything so that the country becomes one of the first economies of the world as early as possible.”

Reflecting on the teachings of Swami Vivekananda, Dr. Kanwalpreet Kochhar, Prof. & Head In-charge Cognitive Neurophysiology & Nutrition Lab, Department of Physiology, AIIMS, New Delhi, urged the youth to be catalysts of change. She passionately stated, “Youth is going to change the world; let us arise, awake, and not stop till the goal is achieved. To achieve everything, we must first prioritize our health – physical, mental, and spiritual.”

Prof. Dr. Tanuja Nesari, Director AIIA, Delhi, highlighted the significance of physical fitness in achieving success, and indicated, “Emphasizing Ayurveda’s core principle, “Mastu Sukino Bhavantu” (May everyone be happy), it is important to adopt habits that contribute to physical, mental, and spiritual well-being. Ayurveda, she remarked, highlights the belief that youth can attain success when prioritizing health.”

In a landmark moment, the Heartfulness Foundation launched the “Youth Unite (Arise, Aspire, Awake)” program during the celebration. The program aims to empower youth holistically, fostering their mental, emotional, and physical well-being while developing leadership skills and unlocking hidden potential.

The event included a meditation session, led by Heartfulness Foundation professionals, providing attendees with a peaceful setting to reflect, revitalize, and connect their minds with positive energy. The session, coupled with engaging conversations, underscored the significance of mental and emotional wellness in the journey towards personal and societal progress.

As the curtains drew on this inspiring celebration, the message resonated loud and clear – the youth of today are not just the future; they are the architects of a brighter, healthier, and more prosperous nation.
